Presidential Advisor, UN Envoy Discuss Peace & Security In Horn Of Africa

<p >The Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs, Tut Gatluak Manime, has engaged in extensive discussion with the United Nations Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Guang Cong, on addressing regional challenges and possible ways of resolving tensions and conflicts in the Horn of Africa.The officials discussed possible mediation efforts that South Sudan could undertake alongside the diplomatic group known as the Quad, comprising the United States, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates, which is working to restore peace and stability in the ongoing conflict in Sudan. The UN Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Guang Cong, also briefed the Presidential Advisor on developments concerning the Abyei Box and UN perspectives and recommendations on addressing the final status of the Abyei Area.<o:p></o:p></p>
