Juba and Khartoum have renewed commitment to deepening their bilateral cooperation for shared future.

This follows a meeting between the Presidential Advisor on International Relations and Foreign Affairs, Hussein Abdelbagi Akol, and the Sudanese Ambassador to South Sudan, Isam Mohammed Hassan Karar, on strengthening cooperation between the two neighbouring countries. Diplomat Karar says discussions focused on the longstanding diplomatic relations between South Sudan and Sudan, with particular emphasis on enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The two officials also exchanged views on South Sudan’s forthcoming December 2026 General Elections, with the Sudanese Ambassador reaffirming his country’s support for the electoral process. Through his Director of Media and Communications, the Presidential Advisor has reaffirmed the shared commitment of both countries to maintaining constructive diplomatic engagement, deepening bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation for the mutual benefit of the two nations and their peoples.
