Gov’t Trains Media On Responsible Election Reporting Ahead Of 2026 Polls

<p >The government, through the Presidential Press Unit, has begun engaging media leaders, practitioners, public relations officers, and press secretaries from various government institutions in a capacity-building programme on election reporting and civic engagement. The training aims to strengthen the capacity of media practitioners and government communication officials to provide accurate and responsible election information to citizens ahead of the 2026 general elections. The SPLM Secretary-General, Dr. Akol Paul Kordit, officially has opened the specialized training programme, organized by the Presidential Press Unit and facilitated by expert trainers from FELT Africa Election Readiness Training, reminding media practitioners of their historic responsibility as co-founders of the Republic and role models for the younger generation.<o:p></o:p></p><p> </p><p >Representing the ICT and PS Minister<b>, </b>Deputy Minister David Yaya highlights the importance of media ethics and the critical role journalists play in promoting informed civic participation and responsible engagement in society.<o:p></o:p></p>
