D/Foreign Minister, UNISFA Review Security Cooperation Ahead Of Polls

<p >The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has convened talks with the Acting Head of Mission and Force Commander of the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei, UNISFA, Major General Ganesh Shrestha, on strengthening cooperation and regional security ahead of the national elections.<b> </b>The meeting reviewed ongoing cooperation, the security situation in UNISFA’s area of operations, the implementation of agreed benchmarks, and preparations for the High-Level Joint Political Meeting between South Sudan and Sudan scheduled to take place in Juba next month.<b><o:p></o:p></b></p><p> </p><p >Major General Shrestha also expressed UNISFA’s appreciation to the Government of South Sudan for its continued support in facilitating the Mission’s mandate.<o:p></o:p></p>
