Athletics Federation Launches Independence Marathon 2026

<p >The South Sudan Athletics Federation, in partnership with Digital Company, officially launched the second edition of the Independence Marathon 2026 in Juba.  The marathon aims to promote peace, unity, and national cohesion among South Sudanese citizens. <o:p></o:p></p><p> </p><p ><strong>Federation’s secretary general, Marko Akol, highlighted the importance of athletics in promoting national unity and healthy living. He announced that participants in the Masters, Senior, and Junior categories will compete in a 10-kilometre race, with the top ten finishers in each category receiving awards. He also encouraged female athletes to participate actively in the marathon and reaffirmed the South Sudan Athletics Federation's commitment to ensuring a successful event.</strong> <strong> De Chan Awuol, Executive Vice President of Digital Company, says the marathon marks an important milestone in promoting sporting activities.<o:p></o:p></strong></p>
