BoSS, AfDB Discuss Collaboration on Financial Sector Development

Governor of the Bank of South Sudan (BoSS), Hon. Johnny Ohisa Damian, on Monday held a high-level meeting with a delegation from the African Development Bank (AfDB) led by Mr. Cafrine Ronald Justine, Executive Director for Eastern Africa.The officials discussed ways to strengthen South Sudan’s financial sector, including support for urban electricity distribution, agriculture, climate resilience, and economic diversification initiatives.Mr. Ronald reaffirmed AfDB’s commitment to continued collaboration with the Bank of South Sudan in supporting initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable economic growth.Governor Ohisa commended AfDB for its continued support and highlighted the successful Annual Meetings recently held in the Republic of Congo, where African central bank governors and finance ministers discussed the continent’s economic development priorities.He also thanked AfDB for its support in the development of South Sudan’s National Payment System (NPS), describing it as a significant milestone in strengthening the country’s financial sector and improving payment efficiency.
