Governor of Central Equatoria State, H.E. Emmanuel Adil Anthony, on Friday paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Bank of South Sudan (BoSS) in Juba.During a meeting with Governor of the Bank of South Sudan, Hon. Johnny Ohisa Damian, the officials discussed the regulation of the insurance sector in accordance with the Bank of South Sudan Act, 2011, as amended in 2023. Under Chapter II, Section 13(h) of the Act, the central bank is mandated to regulate, supervise, and license insurance companies operating in the country. Before the transfer of this mandate to the Bank of South Sudan, insurance companies operating in Juba were regulated by the Central Equatoria State Government. To facilitate the implementation of the new regulatory framework, the officials agreed to establish a joint committee to review existing policies and procedures. They also reviewed the Bank of South Sudan's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and explored opportunities to extend support to the host community of Jonduru, where the central bank's headquarters is located.
