The Ministry of Trade and Industry, in collaboration with the Enhanced Integrated Framework and UNDP, has validated the National Trade Policy following a stakeholder validation programme on drawing a Roadmap for South Sudan’s Economic Growth Through Trade Development. Caretaker Minister of Trade Dr. Labanya says the policy is designed to benefit the country through economic growth, quality job creation, skills development and the expansion of non-oil sectors. Dr. Labanya says the policy will also support the standardisation of imported goods and promote agriculture, sustainable wages and career development in the business sector. UNDP Country Director Dr. Mohamed Abchir reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to sustainable development, inclusive trade facilitation and investment.
