South Sudan and US are seeking deeper cooperation in preventing Ebola virus from entering the country. This following a meeting between the Health Undersecretary, Dr Chol Makur Achiek and the Ambassador of the United States Michael J Adler. Neighbouring Kenya, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are currently striving to control the spread of the disease. Dr Chol Makur Achiek says the government, the United States and other health partners are to coordinate activities to ensure Ebola virus preventive measures are in place for safeguarding the country. Accordingly, the government and health partners are working on mobilising resources for addressing challenges to the national health sector. Ambassador Adler says the exchange covered implementation of the memorandum of understanding the Ministry and the United States signed in June on cooperation in the health sector.
