The Directorate of Civil Registry, Nationality, Passports, and Immigration welcomed its newly appointed Director General, Lt. Gen. Rehan expressed heartfelt appreciation to the national leadership, extending special thanks to President Salva Kiir Mayardit, First Lady Mary Ayen Mayardit, Special Envoy Adut Salva Kiir Mayardit, and the Ministry of Interior. Emphasizing the true meaning of belonging to a nation, Lt. Gen. Rehan highlighted that the directorate is far more than an administrative body—it is the core custodian of identity, citizenship, and the vital gateway connecting South Sudan to the world. Outgoing Director General Lt. Gen. Elia Kosta shared his deep gratitude to President Salva Kiir Mayardit for the trust placed in him following his appointment in 2025. Reflecting on his term, Lt. Gen. Kosta noted how he successfully navigated serious hurdles—including internal divisions, rent disputes leading to forceful immigration evictions, persistent power shortages, and disturbances from disruptive individuals—by actively fostering unity and urging citizens to process their documents directly without middle-men.
