Jubilations have rocked the Juba International Airport following a return of the government delegation to South Korea led by the Minister of Culture, Museums and National Heritage after securing the inscription of the Boma-Badingilo Wildlife Migration Landscape as the country’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. Minister of Culture, says the UNESCO recognition would boost tourism, create employment opportunities, and promote peace through community-based economic development, urging communities around Boma and Badingilo National Parks to support efforts to preserve the landscape and develop it into a world-class tourist destination.
Undersecretary Dr. Julia Amon Wonton described the inscription as a historic milestone that enhances South Sudan’s global profile and strengthens the country’s commitment to environmental conservation.
