With prices continuing to rise, the government is biting the bullet by suspending non-statutory tax exemptions, with exception of UN humanitarian-bonded goods, to boost revenue collection as part of efforts to diversify the national economy. This follows the conclusion of the Ministerial High-Level Committee on Economic Reform's visit to Nimule Border Town in Eastern Equatoria State, to engage authorities on economic and market stabilization.
