November 3, 2026 1 min read

The Presidential Advisor on International Relations and Foreign Affairs, Hussein Abdelbagi Akol, has engaged in talks with the United States Ambassador to South Sudan, Michael J. Adler, on political developments, humanitarian challenges and investment opportunities. Through his Media official Abdelbagi has described the elections as an important opportunity to transform the country’s political landscape and shape a new chapter for South Sudan. The meeting also addressed the humanitarian situation, particularly funding challenges facing the World Food Programme, which requires 55 million US dollars to sustain food assistance in the Upper Nile region. Abdelbagi has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting humanitarian efforts and protecting aid workers, calling on the United States to encourage American companies to explore investment opportunities in South Sudan.
