Vice-President for the economic cluster, Dr James Wani Igga has officially launched South Sudan Urbanization city Review as the government collaborates with World Bank to initiate modernizing all major cities across the country to improve living standard and investment settings. Dr. Igga reassured government's commitment to increasing the budget of the ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development to build and modernize cities in the country, reminding states and administrative areas to provide open spaces and playground within residential areas. The national minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development Michael Changiiek Geay stresses that the urbanisation plan has been designed to commence with a comprehensive assessment on Juba and secondary cities towards creating pathways for more inclusive resilient and productive Urban development. For his part, governor of Central Equatoria State Emmanuel Adill Anthony reaffirmed his government readiness to work closely with the national government for the implementation of South Sudan Urbanization Review. The launching brought together government representatives, development partners, academia, civil society Urban practitioners to discuss the Review's findings.
